Eva Sue Bowers, age 75, a resident of Cleveland, passed away early Saturday morning in a local hospital. Mrs. Bowers was the daughter of the late Mattie Sue Morgan Woodby and Elmer Ray Woodby. Her husband, Walter A. Bowers, her daughters, Linda Sue Bowers, Deborah Louise Bowers, her son, Danny Ray Bowers, her sister, Edith Madeline Frank and her half brother, Vernon Clyde Stephens also preceded her in death. Mrs. Bowers was seamstress all of her life and at one time owned and operated her own business, Bowers Handbags. She worked for B and B Manufacturing, Sledge Handbags and she retired from Brewers Manufacturing. She enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, working in her vegetable garden and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Bowers attended the Church of God.
Survivors include her sons, David Bowers and his fiancé Leithanne Watkins of Calhoun, Gene Bowers and his fiancé Kathy Tarpley, Reverend Kenneth Bowers and his wife Donna and Don Bowers and his wife Lisa all of Cleveland, her grandchildren, Benjamin Bowers, Jeff Bowers and his fiancé Kendel Bunting, Tasha Bowers, Keisha Seavey and her husband Ryan, Daniel Bowers, Cassidy Bowers, Archie Bowers, Kenzie Watkins and Kayne Watkins, her 8 great grandchildren, her sisters, Louise Thompson of Sweetwater, Mae Green and her husband Reverend Paul Green of Riceville, Rhea Frank and her husband Boyd of Madisonville, Rosie Hicks and her husband Lowell of Sweetwater and Faye Pitts of Dalton, Georgia, her brothers, Bill Woodby and his wife Tammy and Arthur Woodby and his wife Sheila all of Sweetwater and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday afternoon at 1:00 from the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Chris Moody and Pastor Josh Lane officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Benjamin Bowers, Jeff Bowers, Daniel Bowers, Ray Woodby, Ryan Seavey, Jose Cordero, Eddie Ward and Ray Hughes serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 P. M. Sunday at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
